Laureus USA is committed to proving that sport is a viable tool for social change. We value academic research and program evaluation as tools for measuring and improving methodology. We commission research and impact measurement in order to identify lessons learned, to drive innovation and to improve the quality of all Sport for Good programs.

We work with the Global Obesity Prevention Center at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (GOPC), which is pioneering a systems approach to better understand how a variety of factors (biological, behavioral, social, environmental, cultural, economic) are associated with diet, physical activity, metabolism, and obesity. In New Orleans, we partnered with the GOPC to adapt its computer simulation model to measure the impact of trained coaches on the community’s rates of childhood obesity.

Working with our global research partner InFocus, we also design and implement social impact measurement and grant management solutions for funders and policy makers.
